Button: Long race pace surprisingly good

Jenson Button says his long run pace during Thursday's pair of practice sessions in Monte-Carlo was "surprisingly good" given the outfit's recent car struggles, with the 2009 World Champion confident that further progress has been made. Button, who ended the day eighth on the combined timesheets, is still searching for a better low fuel balance, but believes he has made a strong start in the principality. "Our pace on a long run looks surprisingly good, although we’re not quite there with our qualifying pace yet," Button told reporters after second practice.
