Ferrari also criticises Pirelli tyre changes

Ferrari has added its name to the list of those opposed to the recent tyre compound modifications announced by sole supplier Pirelli, criticising the Italian manufacturer's decision to succumb to the intense pressure applied by rival outfits. Following on from Fernando Alonso's victory in Spain, where the two-time World Champion made four pit-stops, Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz launched a stinging attack by arguing that Formula 1 is now simply about tyre preservation.
