Alonso 'optimistic' about title chance
Fernando Alonso believes as long as he improves his finishing record for this season he has a good shot at walking away with the World title.
The double World Champion has had a mixed season to date and currently finds himself fourth in the Drivers' Championship, 30 points behind Sebastian Vettel.
However, it's not a lack of pace that has cost him this season. Rather it's been incidents.
A broken front wing put him out of the Malaysian Grand Prix while a DRS issues in China meant he was unable to defend himself.
"Last year we were 1.5 seconds behind the top cars," Alonso said during Thursday's press conference for the Spanish GP.
