Silverstone responds to ‘wake-up call’

Silverstone organisers have been working tirelessly to avoid a repeat of the waterlogging issues that affected last year’s British Grand Prix, with improved drainage systems and car park tweaks being implemented in recent months. During the 2012 event, fans were asked to remain at home on qualifying day due to persistent rainfall. However, Silverstone Managing Director Richard Phillips is hopeful of a much smoother weekend after having to deal with an 'unprecedented' situation.
