Hamilton gets five-place grid penalty in Bahrain

Lewis Hamilton received a five-place grid penalty for the Bahrain Grand Prix after Mercedes changed his gearbox after the third and final practice session on Saturday. The Briton’s session ahead of qualifying ended horridly after his tyre delaminated and suffered a damaged suspension. “I imagine Lewis' gearbox change is a precaution after abnormal loads were put through suspension pick up points or, most likely, drive shaft,” former McLaren mechanic Marc Priestly mentioned on his Twitter page. Red Bull's Mark Webber and Sauber driver Esteban Gutierrez will also be handed three and five place grid penalties respectively as the two were found guilty of causing two separate...
