FIA, FOM: Bahrain GP can help soothe issues

The FIA and Formula One Managament have moved to reassure fans, locals and the teams that they have no issue with the Bahrain Grand Prix going ahead, despite the trouble in the country. Politicians, former drivers and some sponsors are keen to see the race cancelled - like in 2011 - as anti-government protests continue to make headlines. The governing body and FOM released a joint statement on Friday backing the race, believing it will help the country.
