Van der Garde not afraid of Marussia challenge
By Phillip Horton on Thursday, March 7, 2013 Caterham's Giedo van der Garde insists he doesn't fear the challenge of fellow strugglers Marussia ahead of next weekend's Australian Grand Prix.
The Dutch driver joins the F1 grid this season with Caterham, having spent 2012 in GP2.
'Not really,' Van der Garde told GPUpdate when asked whether he was fearful of Marussia.
'Marussia has progressed and Jules Bianchi is a fast guy who can adapt to a car in no time, but we have to wait until Melbourne to see where everyone stands,' he said.
Van der Garde is realistic about Caterham's chance this season and believes progress will only be made once the sport returns to Europe in May.
