Pic hampered by gearbox problem
Charles Pic confirmed a gearbox problem caused him to miss most of the afternoon running on day one of the first test at Barcelona. The afternoon session was less than an hour old when Pic came to a halt between turns two and three, causing the second red flag of the day after Esteban Gutierrez ran out of fuel. Early investigations at Caterham suggested the problem should be quick to fix, but Pic didn't return to the track before the end of the day's running. Pic revealed that the problem was actually fixed just as the chequered flag fell but has left him with a lot of work to get through on Wednesday.
