Mercedes ends opening test day early

Mercedes has been forced to cut short its first day of pre-season testing at Jerez, with the team's new F1 W04 suffering an electrical problem. In order to ensure that the faulty wiring loom is fixed in time for Lewis Hamilton's first official laps in the car tomorrow morning, the team will sit out the rest of Tuesday's running.
