Alonso to miss first pre-season test

Fernando Alonso will not be present at Ferrari's first outing of the season with Felipe Massa and Pedro de la Rosa taking the driving duties. Ferrari will launch their 2013 car at Maranello on 1 February, however, instead of moving with the team to Jerez, Alonso will bow out until the second test begins on 19 February. Announcing their plans on the team's website, Ferrari revealed that it will "fall to Felipe Massa to give the car that Ferrari will use in this year's Formula 1 World Championship its track debut."
