Alonso wins ice race despite Massa clash

Fernando Alonso took victory in the ice kart race at Ferrari's Wrooom event in Madonna di Campiglio, winning both stints, to secure the maximum 50 points available. The Spaniard took the second slot on the grid behind Felipe Massa for the first race, but contact between the pair sent Alonso spinning to the back of the pack. He managed to recover, aided by several incidents ahead including Massa's mid-race spin, to win the race. The second race saw a reversed grid based on the results of race one, putting Alonso at the back. Despite the handicap, he once again charged through the field to win the event.
