New Sauber passes mandatory crash test

Sauber has become the first team to confirm that its 2013 car has passed the mandatory FIA crash tests.The team revealed via its Twitter account that the C32 had successfully come through each of the crash tests that have to be passed before the governing body will allow the car to hit the track – a rule that was brought into play earlier this year."The C32 chassis and safety structures have passed their FIA safety tests,” the team said. “So, fully homologated and ready for winter testing."The first test for the new car will come at Jerez, with four days of running planned from 5 February.Nico Hulkenberg and Esteban Gutierrez will form a new-look driver line-up.
