Silverstone moves to avoid weather drama

Silverstone is aiming to further invest in its infrastructure ahead of next year's British Grand Prix, with adverse weather conditions affecting the accessibility of the circuit in 2012. Fans were turned away from the venue on Saturday after torrential Friday night rain, with tickets later being refunded at a cost of 1 million pounds. In addition to a financial push for 2013, Silverstone organisers hope to implement a greater choice of travel options, add to the number of tarmacked car parks and increase the size of the official Silverstone Woodlands campsite by 70 acres.
