Marko urges FIA action: ‘The driving aspect needs to come back’

Former Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko has delivered a blunt warning to Formula 1’s leadership and to the FIA, insisting urgent action is needed to rein in the sport’s increasingly complex regulations in a bid to bring the drivers back to the forefront of the competition. As the 2026 regulations reshape the sport, many drivers are finding themselves at odds with machines that demand as much energy management as outright speed. The criticism has been led by Max Verstappen, whose frustration with the new era has raised genuine questions about his long-term future....
